Engine making ticking noise.

Hello,

I have a 96 Savage. I hear ticking in the engine, it sounds like it could be valves or maybe coming from just a bit lower than that. I believe I have adjusted the valves correctly, but the ticking still occurs. The oil level is also ok. Please believe that I am not that stupid. j/k Do any of you know if there is anything else I should look at, or had this problem for yourself. Thanks for your info.
